Mogwai Tomavistas Concert
Scottish band Mogwai will be at Tomavistas in their only festival appearance in Spain as part of their tour supporting their new album “The Bad Fire”, which will be released by the end of January 2025.
Mogwai shares Tomavistas’ DNA. A band much loved by the festival and who will finally be on our bill in 2025. We believe that it will be at the best possible time that it could happen after six years without visiting Madrid. “The Bad Fire” will be their eleventh studio album and the first one after “As The Love Continues” released in 2021 and which reached #1 in the official UK album charts, also receiving a Mercury Prize nomination and winning The Scottish Album Prize that year.
They have already released two great hits from their upcoming album, entitled “God Gets You Back”, in a shoegaze style very much in tune with one of their most accurate songs, “Ritchie Sacramento”; and “Lion Rumpus”, this one in the post-rock style of their great classic “Mogwai Fear Satan”. A declaration of intentions about the transcendence of their new material.
The band was born in 1995 and their almost thirty-year career is one of the most special careers of bands from UK. The official line-up is currently completed by Stuart Braithwaite (guitar and vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesizers, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass) and Martin Bulloch (drums).
Mogwai have always gone their own way, pushing to create new labels to define their music, receiving the respect from both the press and the audience around the world and playing live performances that no one else can do, in a constant journey inwards and outwards, with tense but brilliant atmospheres and epic and landscape-like explosions. Mogwai are the great power of experimentation as well as of the closeness of their melodies and crescendos that in Tomavistas will take us to a journey that will be difficult to forget.
They will also be at Tomavistas Festival 2025...
