Mala Rodríguez Tomavistas Concert
Mala Rodríguez will be at Tomavistas celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Lujo Ibérico”, the album whose tracks became the roots of urban music in Spain.
María Rodríguez, born in Jerez de la Frontera, began her career in music at the age of 12 when she came into contact with various urban groups when she lived in Seville. Her professional debut as “La Mala” came with “Toma la Traca” and “A jierro”, published when she was only 19 years old. Shortly after, she changed her stage name and released her song “Yo Marco el Minuto” as Mala Rodríguez, which quickly became a classic on the urban scene and her verses began to be heard in the streets. At that moment, she became the leader and female representative of rap, breaking into a world of men where no woman had succeeded until that moment.
Recognized in the whole world for her unique style, stage intensity and powerful lyrics, Mala Rodríguez has established herself as one of the most respected artists in the world of hip-hop. Her catalogue has become a reference for the genre not only in Spain, but also in the United States and Latin America.
2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the publication of her iconic debut album “Lujo Ibérico” and it was necessary to give her a place in Tomavistas, as C. Tangana also had at the time. Today, “Lujo Ibérico” continues to be a reminder that music can be a powerful weapon to express identity, resistance, and feminine strength. Her legacy inspires not only women, but anyone who seeks to make music from a place of truth, authenticity and without concessions, consolidating its position as an album of cultural and historical relevance in urban music.
From the very beginning, Mala Rodríguez broke stereotypes in rap. Her lyrical style and flamenco roots not only challenged gender norms in music, but also paved the way for future generations of female artists who today are an example of how our country has globally succeeded.
