Carlangas Live Tomavistas 

Carlangas returns Tomavistas to present his new solo album “Bailódromo, Vol. 1”

After more than a decade and five albums published as the leader of Novedades Carminha, Carlangas formally launched his solo project in 2022. Before that, he had signed collaborations with artists such as Baiuca, Sen Senra, Bronquio, Ilegales or Joe Crepúsculo, among others. In 2023, he published a self-titled debut album that featured collaborations with artists such as Manu Chao, Grande Amore or Mundo Prestigio, who act as his live backing band (renamed as Los Cubatas in that role and whose name came up precisely in the backstage of our festival in 2022 before going on stage). That album made it onto the main lists of the best of the year and we ourselves were able to verify the solidity of the proposal with the memorable concert he played that year at Tomavistas.

Since 2023, he has played nearly 40 concerts with overwhelming success endorsed by specialized critics such as Jensesaispop, Rockdelux or Mondo Sonoro, proving that he is one of the leaders of a sound that draws as much from the New York new wave as from Madchester, but also from the groove of new pop, with a code that brings him closer to the sound of Parcels, Khruangbin or L’Imperatrice, among others, but without losing the punk spirit and rock culture as its roots.

He recently published “Bailódromo, Vol. 1”, his second album, which follows the footsteps of his previous work, but which sounds much more powerful and more danceable. He will prove it at Tomavistas 2025 when taking our stage again.
