Kiasmos Tomavistas Concert

Kiasmos will be at Tomavistas after seven years without visiting our city and presenting their wonderful last album II (2024). It will be exclusively in Tomavistas as their only festival appearance in our country and one of the few dates in Europe.

Kiasmos, the duo formed by the Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds and the Faroese musician Janus Rasmussen, returned renewed and restored in July 2024 releasing their long-awaited second album entitled “II”. It is the triumphant continuation of their universally acclaimed self-titled debut that they published in 2014 and with which, together with three more EPs: “Looped” (2015), “Swept” (2015) and “Blurred” (2017), they reinvented minimalist techno with orchestral flourishes and a weightless production. It took them ten years to put it back together again and they have done so in style with an immeasurable album that is already appearing in specialized press lists as one of the most relevant albums of 2024.

When Kiasmos began in the late 2000s, they didn’t know their part-time supergroup would go stratospheric. It was the sound of two old friends from neighbouring islands playing piano and electropop, effusively sharing their love for Berlin-inspired beats. But this duo project exploded into a world-dominating live experience whose music defined the past decade.

In Spain they barely played a dozen times since 2015 and only one of them in Madrid. Therefore, their presence at Tomavistas becomes a historic milestone. Just at the time when they are most creatively active and when their live performance is an inspiring and unique event in itself, like an emotional rave.
