TOMAVISTAS 2022: the third time was the charm

It was the summer of 2019 when we began to organize our sixth edition after the success of the fifth anniversary. Everything was going on as planned and we wanted to continue building stories together, but a few months later the world changed and everything was suspended. New projects such as Tomavistas Extra came along, but the sixth edition was still there, waiting to be celebrated, and in May 2022 the moment finally came.

In a new and bigger venue, finally free from restrictions and with the most outstanding lineup to date, Tomavistas returned to Madrid in spring, adding a new chapter to its history. With almost 20,000 attendees over three days, the Tomavistas family came together to vibrate once again with live music by music legends such as Jarvis Cocker, presenting for the first time in Madrid his new project JARV IS…, Suede, playing their only “Selected Show” in Spain, or the kings of shoegaze Slowdive on their return to the stages. Along with these legends, there were also some of the key bands to understand the alternative music scene of recent years, such as Jungle, with their unique show at festivals in Spain, or Kevin Morby and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever presenting for the first time in Europe their new albums published just two weeks earlier.

But there was more apart from all of that international sound. As part of the DNA of Tomavistas since its very first edition, the most interesting and relevant music projects on the national scene were also present on the bill. Alizzz, Rigoberta Bandini, Carolina Durante, Sen Senra, Cariño, VVV [Trippin’you] or Rojuu are just some of the names that played on one of our three stages proving what we already saw coming: in our scene there is a future, and what a future!
