Tomavistas Festival2019

A fifth anniversary very close to its evolution

Tomavistas 2019 was a success thanks to its amalgam of styles, its flair in its passion for emerging bands and a truly unique international program in the festival scene in our country. Thirty-five bands made our 8,000 daily-attendees float at the magical venue of Enrique Tierno Galván Park. Victoria Legrand, after the dreamy performance of Beach House, left the site with tears in her eyes saying that her concert had been for her one of the most rewarding experiences of her entire career. That is what happens in Tomavistas: the experience is remembered forever and both audience and bands that come to the festival give a good account of it every year. Spiritualized, Cigarettes After Sex or Deerhunter felt that the festival put them in the right place, showed them as the great headliners that they are and enjoyed as seldom before a spectacular sound and a respectful a devoted audience that felt all the emotion of their proposals. That gold quartet, as has already been demonstrated, was the great success of the festival.

But that is not all. Carolina Durante presented for the first time in Madrid their debut album before an overflow audience that vibrate with their energy. Morgan, Angel Stanich or Triángulo de Amor Bizarro showed their credentials to be part of the legend of this line up. They did it offering some highly acclaimed performances on a main stage (Wondo) that this year was exciting as Stonefield could also confirm and enjoy and where we danced with the incredible closing acts of Friendly Fires and Digitalism.

The second stage (Dr. Martens) shined on its own as well and there happened some of the most memorable moments with the performances of Toro y Moi, Wooden Shjips, Joe Crepúsculo, The Beths, Cala Vento, Mucho, Enric Montefusco, Hinds or Cariño . A stage touched by the sky and surrounded by nature -the jewel of the festival- that always invites us to enjoy the most suggestive and different proposals such as Cass McCombs, Soleá Morente, Las Odio, Niña Coyote Eta Chico Tornado, Camellos or Frankie And The Witch Fingers.

>This would be all on previous years, but Tomavistas had a surprise for 2019: a third stage sponsored by Jägermeister. A stage that left everyone open-mouthed because of its design, its location, its sound and the spectacular nature of a line up based on emerging bands that had a brutal impact on the audience with performances that have already become legendary such as the ones played by Playback Maracas, Los Estanques, Bronquio, Uniforms, AWWZ, Terrier, Yawners, REAL or Trepàt.

Tomavistas had a fifth anniversary very close to its evolution. A moving, fun, comfortable, passionate and shocking birthday that pleased everyone. Thus it became the most successful edition among both critics and audience transforming what was a goal into a starting point for the new era of a festival designed to be enjoyed forever.
