Tomavistas Festival2017
Tomavistas at Enrique Tierno Galván Park
In 2017, Tomavistas had the most massive edition of its history, harvesting the good sensations that its two previous thriving editions had announced. The festival found its place among the panorama of national festivals, receiving 16.000 people throughout the three days that it lasted, getting a ton of good reviews for its cared-for program and production.
The festival took a step forward in the international hiring, which became one of its big bastions with 9 bands, such as Goldfrapp’s unforgettable live performance, which will probably remain as a fetish concert in Tomavista’s entire history. Another big winner were Temples, putting the cap on their previous visits to Spain with the best concert ever in our territory. The rest of the poster was completed by Hercules & Love Affair, The Horrors, The Big Moon, Suuns, Jeremy Jay, Aquaserge and Las Robertas, a wide range of bands that leveled up the festival’s quality performing passionately. This goes for both, the more renown ones as much as the totally unknown ones in our country, who in most cases were performing for the first time in Madrid.
In the national section, the great winners were León Benavente. One of those bands that give meaning to the festival’s existence and also made clear that their meteoric rise is unstoppable. Lori Meyers also stood out with a remarkable lighting production. Also very applauded were C. Tangana, L.A, Delorean, Morgan, Enric Montefusco, Polock, The New Raemon & McEnroe, Airbag, Los Punsetes and Rufus T. Firefly and we also witnessed the ultimate launch of future bands like Los Bengala, Mourn, Aries, Cala Vento, Pavvla, Quentin Gas & Los Zíngaros, Las Odio, Alien Tango or Baywaves completing the festival’s most crowded poster in its lifetime, with 43 bands, 40% of which were female ones, prioritising gender diversity.
