Frente Abierto Tomavistas Live
May 31st, 2025
Frente Abierto will take the stage at Tomavistas 2025 to preview their debut album live — and for the first time ever in Madrid. Their unique blend of rock and flamenco promises an intense and powerful performance.
Frente Abierto is a collective of Andalusian musicians led by Marco Serrato, known for projects spanning from the heavy pulse of Orthodox and Altair, to the ambient landscapes of David Cordero, and the genre-bending flamenco guitar of Raúl Cantizano.
Their sound merges deep sonic experimentation with some of the most captivating voices in contemporary flamenco, including Israel Fernández — a cantaor rooted in tradition yet forward-looking — and Lela Soto, a raw and genuine singer from the Sordera family.
This is a supergroup of avant-garde rock, delivering a show that is nothing short of a musical journey — a sonic adventure touching the emotional universes of Lankum, Earth, Sleep, Neil Young or Portishead, but through a flamenco lens. It’s heavy and subtle, deeply traditional yet boldly modern.
Frente Abierto is made up of Raúl Cantizano (flamenco guitar), Carlos Pérez (electric guitar), David Cordero (electronics), Marco Serrato (double bass) and Borja Díaz (drums).
Their debut album, set for release in 2025, has already teased us with a stunning track, “Lo que en el Mundo Vale”, featuring the voice of Inés Bacán. The full record will also include featuring such as Israel Fernández, Lela Soto, Sebastián Cruz, Itoli de los Palacios, and Ángeles Toledano.
There are clear parallels to Enrique Morente’s “Omega”, but this project truly comes to life on stage. That’s why their official Madrid debut at Tomavistas is such a special occasion — and one not to be missed.
They will also be at Tomavistas Festival 2025...
