Ladytron Tomavistas Concert

Ladytron will play their only concert in festivals in Spain at Tomavistas presenting “Time’s Arrow,” their new work released at the beginning of 2023, and revisiting their most famous songs from their other six albums.

Ladytron, the Liverpool four-piece of Helen Marnie, Daniel Hunt, Mira Aroyo and Reuben Wu, have just released at the beginning of 2023 “Time’s Arrow,” their long-awaited seventh album in a very special career that began in the early 2000s. The first single from the album, “City of Angels,” has been their first song released since the publication of the critically acclaimed self-titled album back in 2019. That song, and in general the entire album, breathes crystalline melodies wrapped in icy textures and undulating arpeggios, shoegaze, disco and industrial music that combine in their characteristic electro pop style. In conclusion, a delight that in some passages pairs them directly with bands like Beach House.

In addition to an exquisite and kaleidoscopic career in which they have been twisting their own style without being pigeonholed in fashions or labels, they recently had an unexpected renaissance. In mid-2021, their single “Seventeen” from the album “Light & Magic” (2002) went viral on TikTok, placing the song in the top 10 worldwide. A song from twenty years ago by a group whose existence predates the social media platforms achieving something like this is something very unusual and it means that good songs create their own space. They never die.

Ladytron have never disappeared from our memory, from the DNA of Tomavistas. We fell in love with them after their first performances in small venues in Madrid such as Nasti, back in the year 2000. Their return to a stage in Madrid is therefore full of nostalgia, topicality and magic, as are their incredible songs that we will enjoy in live during one of the most emotional performances that the festival will have in 2023.

They will also be at Tomavistas Festival 2023…
