Villagers Concert Tomavistas

Conor O’Brien and his Villagers will be at Tomavistas presenting their brand new album, “That Golden Time”, for the very first time in our country. The album will be released on May 10, 2024 and their concert in Madrid only two weeks later will be one of the first shows within their extensive European tour.

Following the kaleidoscopic and evocative adventure of Villagers’ fifth album, “Fever Dreams” (2021), award-winning Dublin singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and playwright Conor O’Brien returns in 2024 with an intimate inventory called “That Golden Time”, his brand new album. At the beginning of the year he released the single that gives its name to the album, and which is the first sample of a collection of songs that displays O’Brien’s characteristic melodic style, his gift for simultaneously vivid and subtle arrangements and lyrics that express his hopes, fears, and dreams in a richly absorbing poetry.

Villagers’ career is extensive and has left an endless list of great indie folk songs in what is already an established and unique personal style. “That Golden Time” is his sixth full-length work after “Becoming a Jackal” (2010), “{Awayland}” (2013), “Darling Arithmetic” (2015), “The Art of Pretending to Swim” (2018), and “Fever Dreams” (2021). All of them published prestigious label Domino. All of them have been records always admired by critics and with several nominations for the Mercury Prize and other recognitions such as the Choice Music Prize in 2013 for “{Awayland}” as the best Irish album of that year.

His show at Tomavistas will be with the whole band and he promises to offer a concert that will transport us to a very particular world of emotion that will embrace us with no possibility to escape.
