The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus And Mary Chain Concert Tomavistas 2024
The legendary band The Jesus And Mary Chain will be at Tomavistas exclusively celebrating its 40th anniversary and also presenting their new album that will be published in the first quarter of 2024.
The Jesus And Mary Chain are a Scottish band formed by William and Jim Reid in 1984, the year in which they published their first single ‘Upside Down’ with Creation label. After that, they have achieved an overwhelming career.
In Tomavistas we are super fans of this band and this is something that we have shown in our way of manifesting some of the most important sounds that inspire Tomavistas when it comes to programming: guitars, psychedelia, post punk, and immortal melodies as basic ingredients of our DNA. For this reason, in the midst of the festival’s growth, they were at our 2018 edition where they played a memorable concert.
2024 will be a very special year for The Jesus And Mary Chain as they celebrate their 40th anniversary and also release a new album titled “Glasgow Eyes”. The occasion is perfect to bring them back. We have not doubted it for a second. It is important to keep in mind that they have not been in Madrid since their performance at our festival, so from Tomavistas to Tomavistas with The Jesus And Mary Chain six years later.
We will celebrate 40 years of career in which they have made unique and memorable songs and albums such as the ones they released in their first 15 years: “Psychocandy” (1985), “Darklands” (1987), “Automatic” (1989), “Honey’s Dead” (1992), “Stoned And Desthroned” (1994) and “Munki” (1998). After such a display of history, they decided to stop for a while until they waited for a suitable time to return. That comeback was really welcomed by fans from all over the world. They did it with another great album which was “Demage And Joy” (2017). A glorious return that showed they were ready to conquer again the stage as we could see in their concerts after that. We are really lucky to be able to enjoy live again iconic songs in the history such as “Just Like Honey”, “Head On”, “Cracking Up”, “The Living End” or “Some Candy Talking”.
