The music of Wooden Shjips is a balm: it has regenerative power, it opposes peacefully and subtly against the noise and negativity of the world, amplifying the power of “peace, beauty and resistance”. “V.” was published in 2018 and it was the first album in 5 years of the American quartet formed by Omar Ahsanuddin, Dusty Jermier, Nash Whalen and Ripley Johnson (who is also part of Moon Duo) and in some way means the emotional and musical maturity of a group that has led the American psychedelic movement for more than a decade. Wooden Shjips increase the richness of their sound in this new album of summer-vibes songs tinged with a peaceful halo of protest.
Wooden Shjips are capable of creating beautiful scores of minimalist rock and cheerful nuances. Heirs of both the electric charge of Les Rallizes Denudes or Crazy Horse and the sound purification of classic bands such as Suicide or The Velvet Underground.
Their last appearance in our country in 2018 was tinged with success and magic and that is why they return to Madrid in a single visit in Spain to take us to the top of their infectious rhythms and their syncopated atmospheres charged with light in the shadows.
