This LA-based band composed by drummer Matt Correia, bassist Spencer Dunham and guitarists Miles Michaud and Pedrum Siadatian has become by their own right one of the benchmarks of the musical dream that bring us closer to California, psychedelia, twilight pop and a lifestyle between hedonistic and dazzling.
They have just released their fourth album entitled “LAHS” (a reference to a common spelling mistake with the name of the band), with the label Mexican Summer which shows that the band is facing their most ambitious work to date. They have expanded, even more if possible, their references and openings to musical prisms (with some doorsian passages and even evocations to George Harrison) and even linguistic prims as in “Pleasure” where they dare with Spanish or in “Prazer Em Te Conhecer” where they use Portuguese.
Four very enjoyable albums in seven years are more than enough luggage for Allah-Las to keep climbing to the timeless music’s heaven. A music that sounds like 60’s, but also as a hopeful review of sounds from another time transported and updated with great compositional style to our days, getting their suggestive songs generate nowadays a magical and irrevocable feeling in a multi-generation audience.
