Yawners Concert Tomavistas

Yawners’ guitars are once again sharp and ready to be played again. We will listen to her second album live for the first time in Madrid in an exclusive concert at Tomavistas 2022.

Yawners is the band of guitarist and songwriter Elena Nieto, a project based in Madrid. “Just Calm Down”, Yawners’ debut LP, was released by La Castanya in 2019. In the album, Nieto explores the pop side of the energetic 90s sound, a vibe that instantly brings you back to classic bands like Weezer, Pavement and The Breeders and connects to contemporary bands like Japandroids, Snail Mail or Waxahatchee.

Yawners has gathered great international press attention with features and reviews in NPR, DIY Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Flood Magazine, Remezcla & Alt Press, among many others, as well as national press with features in Rockdelux, Ruta 66, Mondo Sonoro, Jenesaispop. In March 2020 Japanese label Inpartmaint Inc. released the album in Japan. All this national and international interest gave her the opportunity to release her first album in Japan in March 2020 under the label Inpartmaint Inc. with an incredible reception in that country. The best of all? The international adventure does not end here. In 2022 her music will be heard again outside our borders thanks to her recent signing by the labels Big Scary Monsters (UK), Counter Intuitive (USA) and Inpartmaint Inc. (Japan). On the other hand, in Spain she will publish her second album with Montgrí, a label founded by Cala Vento.

During 2019 Yawners toured every corner of Spain, including a gig at Tomavistas and playing one of the best concerts of that year at the festival, as well as Europe and USA. Now it is time to be back on the road to present a new album. That is exactly what she will do on her return to Madrid on the stages of Tomavistas 2022.
