Goat Girl concert Tomavistas
Goat Girl will return to Madrid to officially present their latest work with a concert at Tomavistas 2022 on what will be their only date at festivals in Spain.
Goat Girl originated in 2015, when the four Londoners (Lottie Cream, L.E.D, Naima Jelly and Rosy Bones) came together through their love of music and like-minded attitudes, continually crossing paths at a number of gigs and open mic nights across South London. The quartet’s combined talents and enthusiasm resulted in a uniquely defiant sound with conscious lyricism, all of which wasted no time in pricking the ears of legendary British record label Rough Trade that signed them and published their debut album.
Their first work, with the same name as the band, had positive reviews by critics and audiences and with it they made a name for themselves in the current scene, playing Glastonbury the following year. After that first album, Naima Jelly left the band and her place was taken by Holly Hole, whom they also met on the South London music circuit that saw them born and for which they have never stopped appearing, with the emblematic Brixton Windmill as their epicenter.
Goat Girl’s sophomore album, “On All Fours” veers away from the confrontational lyricism of their angst-fuelled self-titled debut, to a previously unseen depth and vulnerability. This nuanced shift in lyricism indicates Goat Girl’s maturing perspectives in discussing the world’s injustices and social prejudices, using the music to explore global, humanitarian, environmental and mindful wellbeing. Next May they will come to Madrid to officially present this last work with an exclusive concert at Tomavistas 2022 on their only date at festivals in Spain.
