Cala Vento Tomavistas Concert
Cala Vento will be at Tomavistas presenting their fourth album, due to 2023, in their only date in Madrid in this year.
Cala Vento are finally back with a new album after four years. Their last work, “Balanceo”, made them to win respect among the alternative rock scene in our country. With more than 400 concerts behind them, and with the non-conformism that characterizes the band, Cala Vento are facing a new tour with the challenge of giving a new dimension to their already crushing live performance.
Since they started composing together in 2014, Joan and Aleix have published multiple songs in different formats (singles, LP’s, EP’s, etc.). Their music to date has been characterized by the immediacy, strength and emotional intensity of someone who lives passionately and is deeply affected by the doubts of a generation without a future. However, Cala Vento have the ability to convey optimism and joy from an apparently fatalistic position.
After different tours across Spain and Mexico and playing Tomavistas in 2017 and 2019 as well as Tomavistas Extra 2022, the band has built a huge connection with a cross-generational audience that shares the same doubts and angers that are present in their lyrics.
This could be an accurate summary of Cala Vento’s career, but we are skipping a key part of the band: Joan and Aleix do and undo as they like, with no other pretensions than to be honest with themselves and be really aware of the steps they take as a band. That’s why they decided to create Montgrí, their own record label. They did it to be able to control all the editing and distribution processes of their music and at the same time take advantage of their small infrastructure as a platform to publish the works of other like-minded groups like Lagartija Nick, Los Manises, Biznaga, Vulk or Yawners.
